Why plant-based cat litter stays in the box
Tracking — litter that gets stuck in your cat's paws and ends up on your floors — is one of the most frustrating daily problems with traditional clay litter. One of our test families described their baseline with clay: "Super messy, sticks to their feet, so is all over the place." They found litter in the bedroom, on the sofa, in the kids' bed.
The physics are simple. Clay granules are small, light, and angular. They wedge between a cat's toes and get transported around the home. Plant-based granules are designed differently. Out litter uses elongated tofu sticks that have minimal contact with paw pads, they are simply too big to lodge between toes.
- Granule size and shape matter— larger, heavier granules fall off paws before the cat leaves the box. Fine clay particles wedge between toes and travel.
- Tofu sticks vs. round granules— elongated shapes have less surface contact with paw pads. Round shapes are too large to lodge between toes.
The daily life impact
- You stop finding litter granules in your bed, on the sofa, between couch cushions.
- Less vacuuming around the litter area. Testers went from daily to occasional cleanup.
- Your litter mat actually works now — most granules fall off within the mat's range.
