KAAPAW ApS is registered in Denmark and is subject to Danish law.

2. Scope

These terms and conditions apply to all purchases made via www.kaapaw.dk (hereinafter "the online store"). By completing a purchase, you accept these terms and conditions.

These terms apply to sales to consumers in Denmark. Sales to businesses may be subject to separate terms.

We reserve the right to update these terms. The current version will always be available on the online store. Significant changes will be communicated via email or on the online store.

3. Prices and Payment

3.1 Prices

All prices on the online store are listed in Danish kroner (DKK) and include VAT (25%).

Any delivery costs are added at checkout and are clearly displayed before you complete your purchase.

We reserve the right to change prices without prior notice. Price changes do not affect orders already placed.

3.2 Reservation for Price and Typographical Errors

We reserve the right to correct any price and typographical errors on the online store. In the event of obvious pricing errors — e.g. where the displayed price is significantly lower than the actual value of the product — we reserve the right to cancel the order and refund the full amount.

We will contact you before cancelling an order due to a pricing error, and you will always have the option to complete the purchase at the correct price.

3.3 Payment

Payment is processed via Shopify Payments. The available payment methods — including credit/debit cards, MobilePay and Klarna — are displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase.

The amount is charged when your order is confirmed. All transactions are encrypted and secure in accordance with PCI DSS standards.

When using Klarna, Klarna's own terms apply regarding payment, credit assessment and invoicing. For more information about Klarna's terms, please visit klarna.com.

If a payment via Klarna or another payment provider cannot be completed, is declined or reversed, KAAPAW ApS is not obligated to ship the order. We will contact you regarding alternative payment or cancellation of the order.

3.4 Order Confirmation

Once your order is completed, you will receive an order confirmation at the email address you provided. The order confirmation serves as your receipt and agreement.

Please review the order confirmation and contact us as soon as possible if there are any errors.

4. Order Acceptance and Cancellation

4.1 KAAPAW's Right to Cancel Orders

An order confirmation is conditional upon the product being in stock and the payment being approved and completed. We reserve the right to cancel or reject an order in the following cases:

  • Pricing errors or technical errors on the online store (see section 3.2)
  • The product is sold out or temporarily unavailable
  • The payment cannot be completed or is reversed by the payment provider
  • Suspected misuse, fraud or fraudulent behavior
  • The order violates these terms and conditions

In the event of cancellation, we will always refund the full amount without undue delay. We will contact you via email with an explanation.

4.2 Order Limitations

KAAPAW ApS reserves the right to limit the number of products per order or per customer. This applies particularly during promotions, limited stock or suspected resale.

The online store is intended for end consumers. Purchases for the purpose of resale are not permitted without prior written agreement with KAAPAW ApS.

5. Delivery

5.1 Delivery Methods and Times

We deliver to addresses in Denmark via GLS or DAO.

Estimated delivery time: 2–10 business days

Delivery costs are displayed at checkout before you complete your purchase. Our current delivery prices are:

Standard delivery: 49 DKK
Free delivery: On orders over 499 DKK

Delivery times are estimates and may vary, particularly during periods of high demand (e.g. Christmas, Black Friday). We strive to deliver within the stated timeframe.

5.2 Delays

If your order is significantly delayed beyond the stated delivery time, you have the right to cancel the order and receive a full refund, unless we can deliver within a reasonable additional period, in accordance with the Danish Sale of Goods Act.

We will contact you if we become aware of delays affecting your order.

5.3 Transfer of Risk

The risk for the product passes to you when you or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier) has taken physical possession of the product, in accordance with the Danish Consumer Contracts Act.

6. Right of Withdrawal (14-Day Return Policy)

6.1 Your Right to Withdraw

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal when shopping at KAAPAW. The period runs from the day you (or a third party designated by you) receive the product.

The right of withdrawal is exercised in accordance with the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (Act no. 1457 of 17 December 2013, as amended).

6.2 How to Withdraw

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must, before the expiry of the withdrawal period, provide us with a clear statement that you wish to withdraw from your purchase. You can:

  • Send an email to info@kaapaw.dk with your order number and a message that you wish to withdraw
  • Use the standard withdrawal form (see appendix below)

It is sufficient that you send your notice of withdrawal before the withdrawal period expires.

6.3 Returning the Product

You must return the product without undue delay and no later than 14 days after you have notified us that you wish to withdraw. The product should be sent to:

The product must be returned in substantially the same condition and quantity as you received it. You may open and examine the product in the same way you would in a physical store, but you are liable for any diminished value of the product resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to determine the nature, characteristics and function of the product.

Products should be returned in their original packaging where possible. Returned products that are damaged, used or missing parts may result in an increased value deduction from the refund corresponding to the loss in value.

6.3.1 Return Costs

Who bears the cost of return depends on the product type and situation:

Cat litter (opened): The right of withdrawal generally does not apply to opened cat litter, see section 6.5 below.

Larger orders (multiple bags, bundles): You bear the direct costs of returning the product (return shipping).

Pet furniture and accessories: You bear the direct costs of returning the product (return shipping).

Warranty claims (all products): For valid warranty claims, KAAPAW always covers the return costs, see section 7.3.

In all cases, please contact us at info@kaapaw.dk before returning a product so we can advise you on the best procedure.

6.4 Refund

If you withdraw from your purchase, we will refund all payments received from you, including delivery costs (however, not additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the cheapest standard delivery).

We will refund the amount without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date we received your notice of withdrawal. However, we may withhold the refund until we have received the product back, or you have provided documentation that you have returned it.

The refund will be made using the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless otherwise expressly agreed.

6.5 Special Terms for Cat Litter and Hygiene Products

Certain KAAPAW products — including cat litter — are delivered in sealed packaging for hygiene reasons. Once the seal is broken, the product cannot be resold for health and hygiene reasons.

The return terms for cat litter depend on the condition of the product:

Unopened, sealed cat litter (larger order/bundle): Can be returned within the 14-day withdrawal period with a full refund. Return costs are borne by you as the customer (see section 6.3.1). Contact us before returning — we may be able to offer an exchange or store credit as an alternative.

Opened cat litter (broken seal): The right of withdrawal generally does not apply to sealed products that, for health protection or hygiene reasons, are not suitable for return once the seal has been broken after delivery, in accordance with section 18(2)(5) of the Danish Consumer Contracts Act. We ask that you do not return opened cat litter.

If we nevertheless receive a return of an opened product, we will make an individual assessment. As an opened product cannot be resold, a value deduction corresponding to the full loss in value of the product will generally be applied.

We recommend that you contact us at info@kaapaw.dk before opening a product if you are unsure whether it is right for you.

6.6 General Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

In addition to the above, the right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Products made to the consumer's specifications or that have been clearly personalized
  • Products that by their nature cannot be returned

6.7 Misuse of the Right of Withdrawal

KAAPAW ApS reserves the right to reject future orders from customers who systematically or repeatedly misuse the right of withdrawal, e.g. by ordering products with the intention of not keeping them, returning used products as new, or exhibiting a return pattern that significantly exceeds normal consumer behavior.

This provision does not limit your statutory right of withdrawal under the Danish Consumer Contracts Act for any individual order.

7. Warranty Rights

7.1 24-Month Warranty

You have a 24-month warranty right under the Danish Sale of Goods Act. This means you can have the product repaired, exchanged, receive a refund or a price reduction if the product is defective.

A defect is a fault with the product that was present at the time of delivery. The complaint must be made within a reasonable time after you have discovered the defect.

7.2 How to Make a Warranty Claim

Contact us via email at info@kaapaw.dk with the following information:

  • Your order number
  • A description of the defect
  • Photos or documentation if available

We will assess the claim and get back to you within 14 business days. We may request additional documentation or photos to assess the claim.

If we ask you to return the product for inspection, this must be done within 14 days of our request. If the product is not collected or returned within the deadline, the warranty case may be closed.

7.3 Remedies

For valid warranty claims, we will, depending on the circumstances, offer:

  • Repair of the product
  • Replacement of the product
  • Full or partial refund
  • An appropriate price reduction

For valid warranty claims, we cover the costs of returning the defective product.

8. Product Information and Product Liability

8.1 Product Descriptions

We strive to ensure that all product descriptions, images and specifications are as accurate as possible. However, minor deviations may occur, including color variations due to screen settings.

Any errors in product information are not binding on KAAPAW ApS, and we reserve the right to correct such errors.

8.2 Product Use and Animal Safety

KAAPAW's products are developed and selected with care for the well-being and safety of pets. However, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure that a product is suitable for the customer's specific pet, including in relation to species, size, age, health condition and any allergies.

KAAPAW ApS is not liable for damage to pets, persons or property arising from:

  • Use of products contrary to the accompanying product instructions or usage guidelines
  • Lack of supervision of pets during use of the product
  • Allergic reactions or individual sensitivities that could not reasonably be foreseen
  • Normal wear and tear or use not in accordance with the product's intended purpose

This disclaimer does not limit rights under the Danish Product Liability Act or other mandatory rules.

9. Product Disposal

9.1 Proper Disposal of Cat Litter

KAAPAW offers plant-based cat litter. Although plant-based cat litter is a natural product, proper disposal is your responsibility as a consumer.

Recommended disposal: Used cat litter should generally be disposed of with household waste (residual waste), unless your municipality has specific rules for animal waste or composting.

Flushing in toilet: Some plant-based cat litter brands are marketed as toilet-friendly. Regardless of the product's composition, KAAPAW recommends that you always check with your local municipality before flushing cat litter down the toilet. The rules for what may be disposed of via the sewer system vary from municipality to municipality and depend on the local wastewater infrastructure.

Composting: Plant-based cat litter can in some cases be composted, but cat feces may contain parasites (including toxoplasma). Composting of used cat litter should only be done in accordance with local regulations and should never be used as fertilizer for edible crops.

9.2 Disclaimer Regarding Disposal

KAAPAW ApS cannot be held liable for damage to sewers, pipe systems, septic tanks or other infrastructure that may arise as a result of the customer's disposal of the product — including flushing down the toilet.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that disposal is carried out in accordance with applicable local rules and municipal regulations.

10. Limitation of Liability

KAAPAW ApS is liable in accordance with the general rules of Danish law, subject to the limitations set out in these terms.

We are not liable for indirect losses, including loss of business, loss of profit or other consequential financial losses, unless caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part.

Our liability is in all cases limited to the invoice value of the order in question.

We are not liable for losses resulting from force majeure, including but not limited to: natural disasters, war, pandemic, strike, lockout, supplier failure, supply chain disruptions, customs delays, government orders, cyberattacks or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

In the event of force majeure, we will inform you as soon as possible and offer, where possible, cancellation with a full refund.

11. Personal Data

We process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy, which is available on the online store. The privacy policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the GDPR and the Danish Data Protection Act.

By completing a purchase, you consent to our processing of the necessary personal data in order to fulfill your order, in accordance with the privacy policy.

12. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the online store, including text, images, graphics, logos, trademarks and designs, belongs to KAAPAW ApS or our licensors and is protected by copyright law and other intellectual property legislation.

The content may not be copied, distributed or otherwise used without prior written permission from KAAPAW ApS.

13. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

If you wish to make a complaint about a purchase, please contact us at info@kaapaw.dk. We strive to respond to complaints within 14 days.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms and conditions are governed by Danish law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be settled by the Danish courts, in accordance with the applicable rules on jurisdiction.

Mandatory consumer rights under Danish law and EU legislation are not overridden by these terms.

15. Subscription Terms

If KAAPAW offers subscription services (e.g. recurring delivery of cat litter or other consumables), the following terms apply:

  • The subscription continues until you cancel it
  • You can cancel your subscription at any time, effective from the next scheduled delivery, provided the cancellation is made at least [INSERT NUMBER] days before the next delivery
  • Cancellation can be done via your account on the online store or by contacting us at info@kaapaw.dk
  • The price of subscription products may be changed with at least 14 days' notice via email
  • In the event of price changes, you have the right to cancel the subscription before the new price takes effect
